The Women in STEM Speaker Series was launched in San Francisco in 2019 as part of a larger educational venture, the San Francisco Girls’ School.
The founders’ vision was to shift significantly the number of women participating in STEM industries and leading the key fields of the future.
Today, the Women in STEM Speaker Series continues to reach hundreds of students from 6th to 12th grades in schools across the country. Our speakers come from groups underrepresented in STEM: women of color, first-generation college graduates, immigrants and individuals from low-income families.
Their stories of overcoming barriers to success compel our students to believe that they too can achieve an enriching career in STEM. The message is clear: “if I can do it, you can do it too.”
